Shoulder pain

The shoulder is a ball and socket joint between your shoulder blade and your head of humerus. Shoulder pain is a common complaint. The shoulder has a large range of motion and many different structures that can be a potential cause of symptoms. 

Common conditions we treat

  • Rotator cuff injury 

  • Tendinopathy

  • Shoulder impingement

  • Labral tears

  • Shoulder instability or dislocation

  • Arthritis

  • Subacromial Bursitis

  • AC joint injury

Common
symptoms

  • Pain in or around the shoulder 

  • pain referring down the side of the arm 

  • Discomfort into neck and chest 

  • Reduced shoulder movement 

  • Night pain when rolling onto shoulder

  • Feeling of instability

Common contributing factors

  • Overuse  sudden increase in activity

  • Prolonged poor posture 

  • Reduced strength 

  • Reduced mobility 

  • Repetitive activity

  • Trauma

Physio management may include

  • Education 

  • ConnectTherapy approach  assessing your whole body

  • Exercise prescription  strengthening, mobility, motor control

  • Postural retraining 

  • Manual therapy or hands on treatment

  • Self management strategies

  • Training optimal muscle activation
